Jewelry is more than just an accessory; it is a reflection of your energy. Growing up in Jamaica I loved playing in my mothers jewelry. To me, your accessories made a statement and in certain cultures it communicates power and respect. -Naima

There are so many things I wish I was doing to really and truly give back to the communities I’ve lived in. Naima Stennett is making it her mission to do that and much more. Her love for jewelry and style has driven her to create Amian, her jewelry line which uses the revenue to help provide scholarships for international student-athletes. When I asked how she came up with the name Amian, she said it was her name backwards because her line is a reflection of her style. This is a celebration of one of the many powerful women roaming our earth, hellbent on making a difference and paving multiple ways for those beside and after us. “These earrings are about more than just selling jewelry. The main reason I started making jewelry was to help make a difference. As a volleyball player on the Jamaican National Team and at North Carolina Central University, I found time spent playing volleyball to be an in-valuable experience that I still draw from today. In support of student-athletes aiming to continue their education, I started raising money through various fundraisers. These fundraisers included selling my custom made jewelry to help student-athletes accomplish their goals.

All funds are to provide scholarships to international student-athletes covering the cost of the standardized test for college admissions (SAT or ACT), so that they can have the option to receive athletic scholarships. I have partnered with the non-profit Lamb Foundation to achieve this goal:
